■ Introductions of locations
After all, the charms of studying abroad are, probably, interchanging with local people and getting firsthand experiences of local cultures.
Since ECC is a general educational institution, overseas students and Japanese students learn in the same building and they can always socialize with each other. At the ECC Kokusai College of Foreign Languages, overseas students of the Japanese course and Japanese students of other courses have extra-curricular activities after school. In addition, students in the Japanese teacher training course sometimes become assistant teachers of overseas students. Thus, they socialize with each other on a regular basis.

Japan

What comes to your mind when you think about Japan?
An economic superpower represented by enterprise names such as Toyota, Honda, and Sony?
Animated cartoons like Pocket Monsters, Doraemon, and Ampanman.
Traditional sports such as Judo, Karate, Kendo, Sumo, and K1?
Japanese food like Sushi, Tempura, Sukiyaki?
Japanese music or entertainers? Mt. Fuji, tea ceremony, Horyuji temple?
Each of them is an expression of Japan, however, there are many other aspects.
You can not see and experience the real Japan until you have lived there as a student.
By comparing Japanese culture with yours, you will find new aspects of your own culture.
Please tell us what you have found about Japan.

Osaka
▲A underground shopping center
▲JR Osaka Station
ECC Kokusai College of Foreign Languages is located in Osaka. Osaka has the all you would expect second biggest city after Tokyo, and it is in the center area in Western Japan. There are all sorts of things, such from a major city, including shopping malls, leisure facilities, cultural institutions, and educational institutions. Osaka even has an amusement park that is based on a world famous American film studio. For overseas students, the great charm is that house rent and the price of food are much less expensive than Tokyo. Although Osaka is the huge city, it is livable. Especially, Osaka is well known for its "reasonably-priced and delicious food". Another benefit of living in Osaka is that you can see Japanese traditional culture and Japanese history daily, because Kyoto and Nara are very near Osaka. Nara is considered the cradle of Japan, and Kyoto used to be the Japanese capital for 1,000 years. You will understand Japan more deeply than before if you visit such old Japanese temples a Horyuji temple.
